The doll known as Miss Fukui was originally sent to Salt Lake City, Utah where she was placed on exhibition in the Capital Building. Her kimono crest is the kikyō (Chinese bellflower).

Unusually, we actually have archival film footage of her initial reception outside of the Capitol on May 25, 1928, by Governor George Dern and his daughter, Betsy. Representing the Japanese American community was local resident young Yuriko “Lillian” Iida, who formally presented Miss Fukui.

From these images, we can determine that the doll sent to Salt Lake City was not Miss Fukui but actually the original Miss Niigata, by Takizawa Kōryūsai II.

While there was a great deal of press leading up to her arrival, the record falls completely silent after her initial installation in the Capitol Building and her fate and current whereabouts are unknown.
